Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál are in the process of applying for an “Active School Flag”. To achieve this we
- ensure each child has 1hr P.E per week
- promote an active lifestyle
- are launching a Walk to school on Wednesday programme
- will be having an active school week in June
- encourage our pupils to part take in sport activities outside school
Presently our pupils have regular P.E lessons with their class teacher, weekly dance classes, regular camógie training, swimming for 9 weeks, Tennis coaching( 4-6 sessions), Participate in cross country and track and field events and this year we are also hoping to have some handball coaching.
“Walk on Wednesday” (WOW) launched on 9th May 2012 with Brendan Cummins leading the way. Our walk started 9.15am at the GAA field and proceeded through the village to the school.

Active School Flag raising ceremony on Friday 25th October 2013. Padraic Maher, Tipperary County hurler will be in attendance. Light refreshments will be served in the school hall from 1.10pm. All children are invited to wear their favourite jerseys or sport gear to school on the day.
