Empowering Young Minds at Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál

At Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, we nurture each girl’s academic and personal growth in a supportive, inspiring environment. Here, students build confidence, embrace their potential, and form lifelong friendships.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál is a small rural school in New Inn between Cashel and Cahir just off the N8 on the Golden Road.

We have five class teachers and a  learning support teacher.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál is a girls school with both boys and girls attending up to 1st class and girls only from 2nd to 6th . The boys attend the nearby Boys School from 2nd class onwards.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál is a convent school and had nuns teaching here until 2005. Since then the staff have all been lay teachers.

Scoil Mhuire Gan Smál, New Inn is a Catholic Christian School under the patronage of the Cashel & Emly Archdiocese.  It was formerly under the trusteeship of the Sisters of Mercy and we still maintain the Mercy ethos. We foster a holistic approach to the development and education of our pupils.  This school is committed to promoting a caring, happy and creative attitude in the children and staff and towards the environment with particular attention to those at risk. We endeavour to maintain the ethos of the mercy tradition, which means we strive to :

• Achieve academic excellence

• Respect for all pupils and staff

• Care for those most at risk

See our Mission Statement for further details on our ethos. Also check out “What it means to be a Mercy Pupil”.
